The chat discussion started at 11:00am to 12:00pm. The topic for that day was The Impact of Climate Change on Human, and the guest speaker was Dr. Audu Lucky from WHO Primary Health Care Young Leader from Nigeria, He discussed on the topic: The Impacts of Climate Change on Human. Much emphasis was on the impacts and the possible ways we can curb or control the impact it posed on us as humans.

Dr. Lucky sees these discussion as global movements on climate change, hence the impact on human globally is increasing; from extreme temperatures to food shortages and natural disasters etc.

Dr. lucky clearly explained that the massive disruption in our ecosystem and to mother earth following human activities is clearly linked to the change in our world. Rare diseases are emerging and spreading, existing ones are on the increase and pollution both air and water pollution is also on the increase.

He further discussed how Climate change Is a serious threat to human beings, like the Rising sea level have resulted in devastating environmental hazards, flooding, food shortage in drought, resulting in malnutrition, heat stroke, microorganisms, thriving so well with increasing environmental temperature, water pollution resulting in diarrhea cases and death, respiratory tract, diseases on the increase, worsening of asthmatic attacks during air pollutions and so on. In a way population displacement for reasons of physical hazard, land loss, economic disruption and civil strife, has resulted in conflicts in the middle belt of Nigeria and other part of sub Saharan Africa.

He said the possible ways to curb this earth crisis a multi-disciplinary collective action from every human alive is needed to reverse change on our planet, from policy maker, to industries, advocates and academic institutions to help raise voices. We need to cut down on energy consumption [fossils to deforestation], protects our forest reserves, plant new trees, increase awareness on safe waste management, encourage biodegradable materials. Policy makers also need to be mentally aware of all the ongoing impacts of climate change. The Paris agreement is a tool we must put before the government as reminder to their commitments.

In conclusion He said we must all put our hands together and become accountable in ensuring a safe and habitable world for the next generation.
