World environment day is a day set aside by United Nations to undermine the use of the environment

and its sustainability. The theme for the year is air pollution”

Air pollution is an issue we cannot over emphasize its concerns everybody as long as we all need oxygen and carbon dioxide to survive. Africa media development foundation in a way also support the world environment day during their climate chat through discussing air pollution. AMDF discuss Air Pollution and the guest speaker was Cicilly Adong on the 06/06/2019.

Cicilly explained that air pollution is the released of pollutants into the atmosphere that is detrimental to health and the planet as a whole. She said pollutants like carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, dust, aerosols and more are harmful to our health. Inhaling of such pollutants can lead to respiratory problems, heart diseases, cancer and minor irritation of the eyes, nose and throat.

The only way this can be curb is when we collectively work together to towards renewable energy, which is sustainable and clean for our environment. Cicilly said ‘she thinks proper environmental impact assessment study should be intensified before any industry is established anywhere’, this will help keep our environment healthy. Government officials should do more of actions and less of writing. Adequate legislation [Air Act] should be set to control air pollution by nations
