Individuals including Journalists interested in internet freedom are invited to the 2016 edition of the Forum on Internet Freedom in Africa, starting Sept. 27 to 29 in Kampala, Uganda

The programme will be hosted by the Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA).

Topics of discussion include the growing presence of online violence against women; combating hate speech and violations of freedom of expression; empowering media as infomediaries and advocates of digital rights, among others.

This year, a series of discussions focus on developments, as well as explore new issues affecting internet freedom in Africa.

Participants include journalists, bloggers, academia, human rights activists, government officials, developers, and others to discuss matters related to upholding internet freedom.
