AMDF Conducts training on Fundamentals Of Journalism

Kaduna (Nigeria) – In line with its mission to build capacity of journalist, Africa Media development Foundation (AMDF) has conducted a two-day training on Fundamentals of Journalism and News Writing.

The training which took place at AMDF training room in Kaduna Northern Nigeria, targeted at new intakes in the profession and practising journalists who did not study mass communication or journalism.

The sessions featured Interviewing Techniques, News Writing, Generating Story Ideas, Mind Mapping, Media Law and Ethics, and Introduction to Social Media among others.

There were group presentations from the participants on different topics they were trained on.

Tijjani Mohammad from News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and Grace Ladan from Raypower FM, spoke on behalf of the participants and appreciated AMDF for a successful training and for knowledge impacted in every participant. They called on AMDF to keep on with the good work of helping journalists to develop their skills

Coordinator AMDF, Sekyen Dadik, noted that the training was aimed at exposing participants to journalistic and news writing skills and to help them build confidence as they carry out their responsibilities.

She appreciated the participant and charged them to be outstanding journalists, encouraging them to be part of the next training on Social Media for Journalist and Bloggers.
