The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna state council held its first leadership training for members of the executive in partnership with Africa Media Development Foundation in Kaduna.
Speaking at the training, the executive chairman of the NUJ Kaduna state council, Asma’u Yawo Halilu said the meeting was in fulfillment of its campaign promise “as part of our electioneering campaign, we promised to have series of this leadership trainings” she said.
Addressing the newly elected executives, the Executive Director AMDF, Iliya Kure said the meeting is a step in the right direction, “leadership trainings like this are opportunities to build on existing knowledge to help leaders discharge their duties efficiently”.
He enjoined the executives to be open-minded and share ideas and experiences as a way of learning from each other’s experiences.
Also speaking, the Deputy Executive Director AMDF, Sekyen Dadik, congratulated the members of the NUJ executive, and urged them to discharge their duties with diligence as a way of service the people.
Earlier in the month, AMDF had signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the organization and NUJ Kaduna state council, the training was in fulfillment of part of the partnership agreement.
