Joseph Tsongo is our Featured Journalist for July

Tsongo is a young journalist reporter, blogger and social change maker based in the east of the Democratic Reupublic of Congo. Born April 14th 1994, in agglomeration of Kwanje to the border of the Virunga National Park, world heritage.

In his many years of work, he has attained great achievement. In 2013 he was admitted as an animator and producer within a local radio after a formation of initiation in broadcast and production. In 2014, he was admitted like a  trainee journalist after a formation of initiation to the notions of journalist basis. In 2015 he was a journalist reporter after a formation of professional journalism and the initiation of the online written press.

2016 he became a blogger and editor-in-chief he also initiated a broadcast on environmental vocation after an online training on online Media. In 2017 he became responsible for communal radio and environmental vocation giving out the border of the park of Virguns, after a formation in management of the media.

In 2018, after the formation of journalism, he became a freelance journalist to  Infocongo {for the environment}, HabariRDC (for the blogging), Barza-infos (for agriculture), AnadoluAgency (online press), ObservateursFrance24 (for the social facts).he was also invited by Africa Services of the Voice of America to be formed on the journalism of investigation.

In 2019 Tsongo is interested in a lot of online media, he acts to in order to return to the people so that they can be more conscious of the world in which they live. His domains of activity are notable peace, development and the artistic creation in the under-region of the Great-Lake in Africa.

On beats he has covered. Tsongo said ‘I cover social facts, agriculture, humanitarian, environment and peace.

On what inspired him: he said he had a passion for journalism in his word, he went from ‘passion to profession’, this was only possible after hard moments of sacrifices and torments, but finally it was worth it.

His biggest challenge is when he is called to cover a zone that is prone to violence and insecurity. However, he has no regret whatsoever. He has not lost anything but rather he has learned more.

To future journalist, love your work and be devoted because it pays.
