Aspiring sports journalists can apply for a training program.

The International University Sports Federation (FISU, in French) is organizing the Young Reporters’ Program Aug. 19 to 30, 2017.

FISU launched this journalism education programme to provide young (sport) journalists with a unique training experience during FISU’s major multi-sport event, the Summer Universiade.

The Young Reporters’ Programme aims to include 21 to 25-year-old students or recent graduates in journalism/communications from the five continents.

The program will cover basic elements of event reporting, writing, interviewing, photos and video, and the internet. Young reporters will be given daily multiple reporting assignments.

The organizer will select 12 candidates worldwide. Candidates must be college students or recent graduates. Advanced English skills are required. Experience in high performance sports will also be considered an asset.

Participants will receive travel, accommodations and meals.

The deadline is Dec. 15.
