Contest seeks innovative stories about children [Africa] – Africa Media Development Foundation

Journalists in East and Southern Africa are invited to submit their story ideas for this contest.

Media Monitoring Africa (MMA), in partnership with Save the Children International (SCI) and Media Network on Child Rights and Development (MNCRD), are organizing the Isu Elihle (Great Idea) Awards.

The contest aims to encourage fresh reporting, innovative angles, insightful investigations and those that seek to give children a voice and elevate the status of the child in Eastern and Southern Africa.

The competition has two stages: submission of story idea and producing and publishing the full story. The top three journalists’ newsrooms will be given financial support to research and develop their concepts into publishable materials.

Three overall winners will receive cash prizes.

The deadline is Nov. 3.
