Iliya Kure

Iliya is a seasoned journalist and press freedom advocate, who worked with both Nigerian and international media organisations. He has over 20 years of experience working in the media and communication field. He worked as a reporter for Radio Nigeria Kaduna and the Voice of America. He also freelanced for the e- Global Notícias em Português (Portuguese) and the New York Times.

He also has experience working in the development sector and has been involved in health advocacy in Nigeria at both the national and sub-national level. He has been involved in production of advocacy and campaign materials, and has served as consultant to projects of DFID, USAID and Gates Foundation, among others.

As Founder/ Board Chair, he leads the Board of AMDF and ensures attainment of the organisation’s vision, mission and goals.

He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Specialized Journalism from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication, from University of Maiduguri, Nigeria.
