Professional and emerging filmmakers are invited to submit a film to this festival.

The UN Migration Agency (IOM) will host the Global Migration Film Festival Nov. 28 to Dec. 18 in several countries around the world.

The festival seeks films that capture the promise and challenges of migration for those who leave their homes in search of a better life and the contributions migrants make to their new communities.

Films must have been completed on or after January 1, 2016 and include subtitles in English. Features must be over 41 minutes long and shorts must be between 15 and 40 minutes long.

Features and short films will receive US$1,000 and US$500, respectively.

The deadline is Aug. 9.
