AMDF Presents Certificates to 17 trained Journalists in Kaduna

Following a year- long capacity building and mentoring programme organized for selected journalists in Kaduna, North West Nigeria, the Africa Media Development Foundation, [AMDF] on Thursday, 22 November 2018 presented certificates of participation to 17 journalists enjoining them to never relent in advancing their skills to be relevant in their chosen career.

The participants drawn from print, broadcast and online mediums participated in a Year Long Journalism Skills Advancement and Mentoring Programme aimed at improving the skills of journalists in development and investigative journalism.

acknowledged the commitment and consistency of participating journalists through the period of training and mentoring, as she tasked them “to translate all that was learnt towards a responsible and issue based journalism for the benefit of the common man especially those in under-served communities”.

The Managing Editor of Africa Prime News and a Mentor during the training, Mr. Joseph Edegbo, said that the certificates were to recognize their commitment and motivate the journalists as they continue their works as watch dogs of the society. He said they should also not see the programme as a waste of time and energy rather as a platform that can help improve their knowledge and skill in journalism.

Responding on behalf of the participants, Editor of Newsweb Express, Alex Uangbaoje expressed gratitude for the opportunity AMDF granted them to participate in Journalism Skills and Mentoring Programme.  He attested that the training has advanced their skills and added to their knowledge and experience as Journalists.
