AMDF/NextMerge unveil an online application ‘Scoopnews’

Africa Media Development Foundation (AMDF) in collaboration with NextMerge unveiled an online application for journalists and news sources today at the NUJ Secretariat Kaduna state chapter.

The application is one of the first indigenous app not just in kaduna but in northern nigeria to provide a platform for the general public to share stories or scoops with journalists and media organisations who are registered on the application page, the AMDF coordinator Sekyen Dadik explained.

She added that the application seeks to promote in-depth and investigative reporting as journalists begin to dig deeper into issues highlighted by sources.

The NUJ Kaduna State Chapter chairman Mr Adamu Yusuf, also expressed his joy and encouraged journalists to maximise the opportunity and also assured AMDF of their support.

Stanley Odior of NextMerge who unveiled the application said the platform is an interface between the journalists and the public. The application is for people to share issues with journalists to follow up on.

He further explained that the app gives news sources the liberty to decide who to share their scoop with on the application
