Wits Radio Academy offers internship [South Africa]

Aspiring radio journalists in South Africa can apply for a 12-month internship.

Jacaranda FM is searching for TWO news interns to join their vibrant and dynamic news team. They have partnered with The Wits Radio Academy, a centre of training, research and public engagement in the field of radio. The Academy works with the university’s campus station, Voice of Wits 88.1FM in the heart of Braamfontein.

The Wits Radio Academy, based at the University of the Witwatersrand, is looking for two news interns. The internship will start in January 2017.

The interns will rotate every six weeks between VowFm in Braamfontein and Jacaranda FM in Midrand, both in the metropolitan Johannesburg. They will learn the various aspects and operations of a newsroom.

Candidates should be journalism graduates who are fluent in Afrikaans and English. Minimal editing and multitrack mixing experience is required.

The deadline is Nov. 18.
