UNESCO is seeking nominations for UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize 2017

Nominate Journalists, organizations or institutions that promote press freedom worldwide for a US$25,000 award.

The UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize will recognize a significant contribution to press freedom. Member states, international/regional organizations or professional/nongovernmental organizations working in the field of journalism and freedom of expression can nominate up to three candidates.

The recipient will be recognized during the World Press Freedom Day ceremony to be held on 3rd May, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Nominations must be submitted in English or French and include a brief biography or history of the nominee.

The deadline for submission is Feb. 15, 2017.
