The Annual Lecture series focuses on media and journalism practice – its role in shaping democracy and press freedom in Africa, and is observed on dates around the World Press Freedom Day.
This Lecture series, apart from immortalising Mr. James Bagauda Kaltho, a Nigerian investigative journalist who went missing in line of duty in 1996, will also serve as a guide to media professionals in finding bearing, as well as contribute to the body of knowledge in Africa.
The meeting is open to Journalists, Bloggers, Human Rights Activists, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and all citizens.
The Lecture is organised by Africa Media Development Foundation (AMDF), a media development organisation in Nigeria, established to provide professional support to journalists and promote development journalism in Africa.
The 2020 edition of “Bagauda Kaltho Memorial Media Lecture” will hold on 5th May, 2020; Time: 9:30am; Venue: Kaduna, Nigeria.
The theme will be announced in due course.
